Junior Gordon was born on July 1st, 1973 in Houston Texas.
His parents and friends were first to notice his vocal talents and at
the age of 15, he took a very strong interest in singing. His parents
started signing him up for talent contests and music showcases. Knowing
he was not old enough to pursue his singing career in night clubs and
dance halls, his parents agreed to take him to see some of his all time
idols, George Straight, Mickey Gilley, Gene Watson and Ronnie Millsap,
to name a few. Once he had the feel for the music industry he was ready
to try it on his own. So Junior started singing in more contests ands
showcases, doing so well and meeting so many people. He decided to put
his first band together. Like most first bands, it lasted a short time
and did not make it to the peak that he so wanted. But it was
profitable for Junior; the phone calls were coming in from bands looking
for a lead vocalist and night clubs wanting to book him. Sitting down
with his best friend, Ronnie Baggett, he learned how to play the
acoustic guitar. Junior took a position in a band called Showndown in
1998 as the lead vocalist and started his climb. He has been to
Nashville and has performed in every legendary land mark with Country
Music, ranging from the Country Music hall of Fame, CMT, Tootsies and
most every club in publishers alley. He found his home with
Southern Justice in April of 2007 and enjoys every minute of his small
success story and his band members and friends.
He currently lives in
Liverpool, TX with his wife, Cheramy, and his five wonderful children
Cody, Brenden, Michael, Meredith and Megan. Junior
shares a love for his children and family that is very strong. He works
and plays very hard and shares the thought that life is very short and
you should live it to the best that it can be lived.
